Young people, ages 6 years to 10 years, are invited to gather at St. Stephen’s on Monday afternoons to play instruments, learn songs and singing games, listen to bible stories and participate in mini dramas, all through participation in the St. Stephen’s Children’s Choir. The Children’s Choir, comprised of children from the parish and neighborhood is under the direction of Mitzie Collins, well-known folk musician, Eastman Graduate, and St. Stephen’s music director with Betty Bordner, coordinator of early childhood curriculum for the Strong Museum. Building on the experiences of the Monday afternoon gatherings, the children’s choir regularly shares their talents during Sunday morning services and annually performs at the 19th Ward Square Fair. |
